Relax! Let your eyes wander and quiet your mind with some visual therapy. A picture is always more than you can see. You will also find my own illustrations, animations and sometimes short stories. You never know what you will find so make sure to come back.
When someone points out your mistakes, you should be grateful. Pointing out a mistake is not a personal attack, it’s a way of helping you reassess something? Life is constantly changing and we have to keep up!😊
Very wise words, J. Having said that, I’m a very sensitive person and would get easily hurt if someone pointed out my mistakes. However, I recognise that this is something I need to work on. I’m just as likely to make mistakes as the next person and should take a gentle correction as a blessing, not a telling-off. Life is undoubtedly changing all the time, and there’s nothing we can do about that. They say ‘a change is as good as a rest.’ I guess it is. Xx 💟
Hi Ellie,
I think that we all have our days and some days we take things more personal than we should, and it’s OK. As long as we remember that ” life is life” and move on, dwelling is what makes it more difficult. I read an interesting book written about a professor from Standford University, called “Why zebras don’t get ulcer” and it was so interesting. It talks about the way we ( humans) hold on the stress for longer than needed causing health and mental problems. A zebra who was just eating some grass and suddenly got chased by a lion, if she escapes the zebra goes back to eating grass and doing its thing, the zebra does not thing about the bad situation with the lion for days and days like a human would do with ” What if scenarios” or re-living that awful scenario over and over. SO in other words we cause so much more stress to ourselves that we need to. That’s when you can distract yourself if needed….a good book? TV? You can do it 🙂
Thank you for your lovely reply. I really do appreciate your words. I tend to be a ‘dweller’ of thoughts and situations and endless what-ifs, (not very helpful, I know). I’ve heard of that zebra book – I’m going to see if I can get a copy from the library in town and have another read of it. It’ll do me good to have a reminder. I do need to learn to distract myself from my worries – I find reading difficult to concentrate on at home; however, I often go to the library to read as I find I am less distracted by chores, the internet and Peanut if I go there. It always does me good. Thank you for having faith in me that I can do this, my friend. I always look forward to our exchange of comments each day. Have a lovely evening. Xx 🤗💞
